Our room was super comfortable and we love the design. The location is central so almost everything is within an easy bus ride away (routes 38, 22, 2, 3).
Can get a bit noisy during morning rush hour if you were staying on the 1st floor.
Nice, colorful & inspiring design. Most staff quite friendly. Handy restaurant with decent japanesish food. Room was well furnished and equipped. And my room was very quiet. I liked the Japantown area surrounding.
The WiFi was indeed free, but - as many have commented - it is incredibly slow, hardly worked even for things like browsing the web. Maybe half the incredibly is sharing the connectivity, so the hotel might want to introduce a password to keep some out. Another minor point is that parking was not always available because already full. This is as advertised. In such cases the hotel points to nearby Japantown Center parking.
Design, location, cleanliness, great staff, food
the carpet was a little stained, but understandable due to the light color
It was ideally situated between where our daughter lives in the Richmond District and downtown San Fran with good bus service, and a being in Japantown we a glimpse into that world.
There was no upholstered chair (arm chair) to sit in in the room. There was a table and two Ikea type desk chairs but a nice comfy chair to sit in would have been the perfect addition.
Absolutely nothing to complain about. Excellent service, convenient position in the very calm and safe Japantown, nearby bus station, good restaurant in the hotel.
Nice quiet environment. A plus and minus point for that
The hotel was well located in the city, on the edge of Japantown and the Fillmore neighborhood. Room was pleasant. The staff was helpful. I liked the Japan kitsch motif of the hotel.
friendly and professional staff. Centrally Located. Japantown within minutes walkin....A lot of restaurant just around.....
The Staff were very friendly and there's the 2 and 3 bus lines that stops in front of the hotel. Japanese shops and restaurants around the area which was nice. The Japan centre shopping mall was great. You can find almost anything japanese there. Rooms were clean and the bed were huge. Maybe it's an American thing but I was impressed with 2 queen beds in one room. In other countries you only get 2 twin beds. The design and decoration is modern Japanese so it's quite trendy. Wi-Fi is free and if you don't have a Laptop, there are 2 workstations down at the lobby
The hotel offered free printing service which was great but the toner was almost empty
This was the first time that we stayed in a hotel in such close proximity to Japantown and we were not disappointed. The feel of the hotel was that of a boutique-style hotel where the staff was very attentive to our needs. The decor of the rooms were nothing that we have seen before and was such a pleasant surprise. We would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers to the San Francisco area.
Quiet, very modest and clean - nice place to end a busy day. It was my 5 year old and I and she was just happy they had a big bed and tv. I felt safe staying there. Nothing fancy but we liked the simplicity.
Others may have found the bed too hard but down pillows are always nice. It is a little out of the way but taxi/bus readily available.
location, quality of room and price
carpet seemed a bit dirty in room (or perhaps just stained)
Very clean, safe neighborhood, close to downtown
the rooms are big and they have lots of natural light
the ventilation system was very loud and i could not sleep. i was there 4 nights...i told them many times but they didnt fix it, instead, they gave me a discount for 2 nights...my room was 226.
Great location in safe neighbourhood. A short bus trip to more central areas, and right near Fillmore for great restaurants and boutique shopping. Room was spacious and clean and bed was super comfy. Nice bath products, replaced daily. Bath/shower and a table with two chairs, plus a leather desk chair and desk. Especially appreciated the gym which opens at 7am - great for doing something when jet lagged. Restaurant was fine and staff were helpful. Great stay and highly recommended, if a little ojn the pricey side, but then everything decent is pricey in SF!
Breakfast could have been included, perhaps!
